One of the twelve districts of Himachal Pradesh, Kinnaur is located on the Indo-Tibet border. Situated at a distance of 235 km from Shimla, Kinnaur hosts the views of Zanskar Valley, snow-draped Dhauladar range, Chitkul – The last village on the indo-Tibet border and have Satluj, Baspa and Spiti rivers meandering through it.

Also known as “Land of God”, the most important attraction of Kinnaur district is the religious “Shiva Lingam”, the representation of Lord Shiva and the mesmerising rock formations change its colours several times during the day. There are old Buddhist monasteries and temples in the vicinity which hold particular importance and are revered by Buddhists. Apart from religion, Kinnaur also has a vast scope in adventure sports like trekking and skiing. There are about nine known routes for trekking and some which are five days or six-day trips. Kinnaur is well known for its delicious apples, Chilgoza, handlooms and handicrafts materials.

It is renowned for apples and orchards, lovely meadows covered with dense woods and the most adventurous routes that cut through these valleys for a mesmerizing road trip.

Kalpa is a small village in the Sutlej river valley, above Reckong Peo in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, Northern India, in the Indian Himalaya.

Itinerary

Day 1Chandigarh - Shimla

Meet on arrival in Chandigarh airport/ station and transfer to Shimla by road. On arrival check in at hotel. Evening free to stroll in the famous The Mall & The Ridge. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2Shimla-Rampur-Sarahan

Travel by road from Shimla to Sarahan, the gateway to Kinnaur enroute crossing the famous hill resorts of Kufri & Narkanda. Enroute also visit Rampur and view Padam Palace. Continue drive along the Satluj river and from Jeori climb upto Sarahan. On arrival check in at hotel. Evening visit the famous Bhimakali temple at Sarahan. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3Sarahan To Kalpa

After breakfast travel by surface from Sarahan to Kalpa. The route is along the Sutlej river. Kalpa is a beautiful village located in the backdrop of Kinner Kailash Mountain range. On arrival check in at hotel. Afternoon visit Roghi village which has traditionally built Kinnauri houses. Evening free to walk around the Kalpa village. Overnight at hotel.

Day 4Kalpa to Sangla

After breakfast travel to Sangla which has earned distinction of one of the most beautiful valleys in Himachal. At Sangla visit Kamru village and make a small walk to visit Kamru Fort which has a temple dedicated to Kamaksha Devi. Later check in at camp. Rest of day is free to relax and enjoy the pristine beauty. Overnight at camp.

Day 5Sangla

After breakfast an excursion visiting the picturesque village of Chitkul. Drive back to Sangla. Rest of day free to relax or make walks to nearby Batseri village. Overnight at camp.

Day 6Sangla to Shimla

Travel by surface from Sangla to Shimla. On arrival check in at hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 7Shimla to Chandigarh

Intime transfer to Kalka station or Chandigarh station/ airport for train/ flight for onward destination. End of tour & our services.
